Neuromodulators (Botox)
Neuromodulators, such as Botox® and Dysport®, are temporary muscle relaxers approved by Health Canada that can last 3 to 4 months or more. These injectables, derived from Botulinum Toxin type A, use highly purified, naturally occurring proteins to relax targeted muscles and gradually smooth out wrinkles caused by common facial expressions.
Cosmetically, neuromodulators can refresh your appearance by softening fine lines on the face. They are most commonly used by our clients to treat:
- Frown Lines (11's)
- Forehead Wrinkles
- Bunny Lines (sides of the upper nose)
- Crow's Feet (around the eyes)
- Smoker's Lines (above the lips)
- Lip Flips (to create the appearance of fuller lips without the need for dermal fillers)
Treatment Process
The treatment involves small injections to the targeted areas. Initial results can be seen in a few days, with full effects taking approximately 14 days to manifest. The effects typically last for three to four months, and the procedure can usually be completed within 45 minutes. Neuromodulators can also be combined with dermal fillers for enhanced results.
